    Peter A. Hartman, DVM, Practice Owner

    Dr. Hartman studied at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale on a football scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1994. Later he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. Hartman opened Valley Lakes Veterinary Clinic in March 2006. His hobbies include boating with his family, golf and trap shooting. He, his wife, and their daughter share their home with a Golden Retriever mix named Charlie.

    Valerie Herzog, Technician Staff

    Valerie has been with Valley Lakes Veterinary Clinic since January 2007. Before joining the VLVC team, she worked at a local pet store caring for puppies, kittens and other small animals. In her free time, Valerie enjoys going to the movies, photography, birdwatching, hiking and spending time with her friends. Valerie shares her home with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 hamsters, 1 mouse and an assortment of pet insects.

    Tara O'Connor, Reception Staff

    As the newest member of the Valley Lakes Veterinary Clinic's team, Tara has brought with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She joined VLVC in January of 2008, after working at a veterinary hospital in Lindenhurst for 6 years. Pet sitting, gaming, and reality television are some of  Tara's interests outside of work. Tara and her husband share their home with 5 cats, 2 dogs, a few fish tanks and her father. Tara is available for pet sitting your cats while you are out of town. Feel free to call her at the office to inquire about her services.

    Lily, Hospital Staff

    Lily came to Valley Lakes Veterinary Clinic with a broken leg that was beyond repair.  After amputation surgery, Lily has the run of the hospital (yes, she runs quite well). She loves playing with her toys and opening the drawers at night.
